:Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs) play an integral role in providing devices the ability to sense and interpret their environment. For example, sound, light, temperature, and other physical properties can be measured and quantified by converting the physical user inputs into digital bits. The LTC1273ACSW #PBF, or Linear Technology Corporation’s LTC1273, is a 16-bit high performance, low power, successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The clock then moves onto the next bit and repeats this process until the conversion is complete. Once the conversion is finished, the LTC1273 sends out the resulting digital binary value. This entire conversion process takes about 100 microseconds, making the LTC1273 ideal for fast applications. In addition, the LTC1273 is available as a single-supply device, making it easy to integrate into systems constrained by board space.
