The device then converts the sampled signal into a digital format. This conversion is done using successive approximation register (SAR) which is a circuit which contains an analog switch that successively makes an educated guess in order to obtain the most suitable digital output. The LTC1403CMSE-1#PBF also has an A/D converter circuit which takes the sampled signal and converts it into a digital form. The device also includes a digital-to-analog (D/A) converter which is used to generate the proportional level of the input signal.
