LTC1555IGN Introduction
The LTC1555IGN is a low voltage CMOS chip that converts input signals to dual complementary output signals. This chip is part of the Linear Technology portfolio of CMOS Translators/Level Shifters.At its core, the LTC1555IGN is an industry standard complementary logic-level converter. The input logic levels are TTL and the output logic levels are complementary CMOS. The operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +105°C for industrial temperature range, and from -25°C to +85°C for the military temperature grade. This chip includes both ±12V dual supply regulators, as well as an integrated circuit breakers that reduces power dissipation and increases reliability.Application Field

Working Principle
The basic principle of operation of the LTC1555IGN is that of translation and level shifting. The conversion from input low-level logic to MSB output CMOS occurs through the T1 and T2 comparators. The offset levels for these comparators are established by the voltage divider network around the chip. When the input and reference voltages are equal, the comparators become active and translate the low-level TTL logic levels to CMOS logic levels.When the input logic low is greater than a predetermined voltage, the output level drives high. This output level is determined by the external load connected to the LTC1555IGN. The output of the LTC1555IGN drives into the non-inverting input of the differential amplifier, which is cascoded with a diode pair. This allows for high-speed switching with minimal power dissipation.The LTC1555IGN also includes an ESD protection circuit. This protection circuit is designed to protect the chip from Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) hazards. It clamps the output of the LTC1555IGN to the power supply rails and reduces current flow.Conclusion
