The LTC3610IWP#PBF is a DC/DC switching regulator from Linear Technology’s voltage regulator and power management semiconductor family. Working Principle

The LTC3610IWP#PBF is a synchronous buck switching regulator which, when enabled, begins to switch the inductor of the power converter in an ON-OFF mode. The conversion of voltage is determined by the duty cycle, which is set by a feedback circuit made of a resistor divider and a comparator. This circuit compares the output voltage to a precision voltage reference, and adjusts the ON-OFF ratio of the switching transistor accordingly. Internal current limit is enabled by default and is adjustable via an external resistor. The device also features cycle-by-cycle current limit and over-temperature protection. In case of OTP or current limit trip, the output voltage is placed in a fault condition which the feedback loop interprets as a low output voltage and increases the duty cycle accordingly until it trips again.
