The LTC3642IDD#PBF is a member of the LTC3600 series, integrating a buck switching regulator and a low dropout (LDO) regulator. The Working Principle of LTC3642IDD#PBF

The internal table based adaptive on-time control ensures the quickest possible transition to the next steady-state when a load transient is applied. The input voltage is sensed and compared to an internal reference. The current in the Buck regulator source is monitored and compared to a second reference. If the voltage input falls below the lower level of the reference, the regulated output will be shutoff. The internal high speed comparator monitors the output voltage and trips off the internal MOSFETs in order to maintain regulation.

The LTC3642IDD#PBF incorporates an internal error amplifier, a voltage reference, and a current limit comparator to lead its power management capabilities. The error amplifier senses the output voltage and compares it with an internal reference in order to maintain a regulated output.
