The LTKAK10-058C-TP is designed to clamp dynamic voltages that exceed the maximum rated over voltage and clamp static voltages that exceed the Zener voltage.

The working principle of the LTKAK10-058C-TP is based on the Avalanche Breakdown and Zener Breakdown principles. When a surge occurs, the Avalanche Breakdown principle causes the diode to become conductive and the current is intercepted. This limits the voltage across the circuit and prevents damage to the system. When a static voltage is applied, the Zener Breakdown principle allows the Zener diode to conduct and ensures that the voltage stays below the Zener voltage.

The LTKAK10-058C-TP has a typical breakdown voltage at 10,000 volts and a maximum peak pulse current rating of 18A. It is also designed to have a very fast response time of 1 microsecond and is suitable for unipolar operation from -60V to +60V.
