It is designed to absorb excessive transients induced in the system due to switching, line disturbances, or incoming lightning-strokes.The LTKAK10-058C is characterized by low leakage current and low working voltage. It is especially suitable in applications where there are high surge voltages or high power load-cycles.The LTKAK10-058C is designed to replace large fuses and protect delicate electronics from damage due to over-voltage. It is constructed as a symmetric PN diode with two drains, a gate and source. The TVS-Diode is rated for a maximum sustained voltage of 250 Volts and a peak pulse voltage of 300 Volts.Working Principle:When a transient voltage exceeding the nominal value of 250 Volts is applied, the LTKAK10-058C will instantly convert this to a lower non-destructive voltage. The device will then open a conduction channel, allowing a limited amount of energy to flow through it, thus preserving the circuit components.The LTKAK10-058C can also be used to protect circuits against electromagnetic pulses (EMP) produced by lightning strikes or high-powered radio frequency (RF) transmissions. The device acts as a shield against these radiated signals, and will absorb and prevent any damage to the circuit components.The small size and low power consumption make the LTKAK10-058C ideal for use in a variety of applications, such as in data communications systems, office equipment, telecommunications equipment, and home entertainment systems.The LTKAK10-058C is a cost effective and reliable solution for protecting sensitive electronic equipment from voltage surges, and its wide operating temperature range ensures reliable protection even in extreme conditions.
