The LX8584A-00CV PMIC (power management integrated circuit) is a linear voltage regulator that is used in a wide range of applications where reliable source of power is required. It is a cost efficient and reliable linear voltage regulator with an onboard oscillator that is capable of providing a constant, regulated voltage output from an unregulated input voltage. It is most popularly used in applications such as automotive, telecommunications, medical, industrial and consumer electronics.

The LX8584A-00CV features a wide input voltage range, high switching frequency and low noise. In order to achieve this, the circuitry employs a number of advanced techniques such as voltage boosting, soft-start, feedback loop, transient response and spike suppression. The use of these techniques helps to ensure that the output voltage remains stable regardless of the input voltage, and eliminates any voltage spikes or glitches that may cause damage to the device or its components.

In order to work properly, the LX8584A-00CV is powered by two power inputs, VCC and VDD. The VCC pin supplies the supply voltage to the input and feedback paths while the VDD pin supplies power to the internal oscillator, reference and output driver. An integrated circuit (IC) is used to regulate the output voltage, and to protect the device in the event of an over-voltage or over-current condition.
