Aluminum electrolytic capacitors or Polarized capacitors are one of the most widely used types of capacitors in electronics. Working principle

The 152E3 is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor. As such, it consists of two aluminum foil anodes, one of which is etched to form a porous layer, which is impregnated with an electrolytic solution. The anode is then placed inside of a paper or plastic dielectric material and rolled into a cylindrical shape. The other anode is then placed outside of the dielectric material and a cylindrical casing is placed around them. This cylindrical casing also serves as the external terminals of the capacitor.

In operation, when the capacitor is connected to a voltage source, current flows from the terminal connected to the positive terminal of the voltage source to the anode through the electrolytic solution, thus charging the capacitor. When a power supply is applied to the capacitor, the charging current flows through the various parts of the capacitor, resulting in an accumulation of electric charge on the anode. This electric charge is stored within the capacitor and can be discharged rapidly when required.
