MAN6180E Application Field and Working Principle

MAN6180E is a kind of LED character and numeric display modules. It’s mainly used for automatic control systems, telecommunication systems, audio and video systems, security systems, electrical meters and digital clocks.This display module is designed with multiple-level control, which makes it very easy to display different text and numbers. It offers characters, symbols, numbers and other specific information displayed on the small display.The working principle of MAN6180E is based on the ability to turn on and off individual segments in an array of LEDs with multiple levels of intensity control. The driving frequency is determined by the equations shown below.The driver receives an address and instruction code, which it interprets to create an appropriate drive waveform and set the proper segments within the display. The MAN6180E module consists of a 6832 controller, an E2PROM, data latches and an LED display array. The LED display array contains 16 LED elements, arranged in two grids of eight LED elements each. The LED display itself is fabricated of ultra thin silicon and can be powered by 5V DC.The module can also be used in alarm systems and industrial process monitoring, as it offers reliable low level alarms, latching and alarming logic, high tolerance PWM integrated circuits, fast response AC-DC converters and overvoltage protection.The MAN6180E display module is reliable, accurate, wide temperature tolerance and low power consumption performance.
