The MAN6640 is a display module classified as a LED Character and Numeric, specifically designed to be used in the automotive, medical and industrial fields. This module is composed of two 6 six-digit numeric displays, four 8 character dot-matrix bars, four 10-character dot-matrix bars and a 7-segment character.

It is designed to operate in a wide range of environments with efficiency and reliability, having an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. It possesses a regulated top white LED bar offering higher light output and brightness than other LED character and numeric displays available. The display is UNCOM (Ultra-Narrow Multi-Color) capable offering a range of display options and the user can select different combinations from the various options.

The MAN6640 is also equipped with a Minimum Brightness Monitor continuous brightness measurement and automatic dimming system. The device exhibits excellent short circuit environmental transmission characteristics, drift compensation and reduced scanning rate options.

The working principle of the MAN6640 rests on two types of feedback mechanisms, namely voltage and current. Voltage feedback controlling works by measuring the voltage across a display and making adjustments in order to maintain a constant voltage output. In current feedback controlling, the current through a display is measured and adjusted in order to maintain a constant current output.
