MAX1102EUA is an highly integrated 18-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) consisting of a 4th-order, low-pass sigma-delta (Σ-Δ) modulator and an 8-bit digital filter. It is designed for high performance medical, industrial, and consumer applications.The MAX1102EUA belongs to the family of interface-CODECs that offer a direct digital interface to analog signals without the need of external primary converters. It is capable of converting single-ended and differential (G = +1 or G = -1) input signals into digital signals at 16-bit resolution.The MAX1102EUA features a high-speed sampling rate of up to 4MS/s and provides excellent dynamic performance with a true 95 dB at 1 kHz signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance. The device supports continuous sampling mode as well as wake-up , sleep, and standby modes. It also features an internal clock, an on-board temperature sensor, and an on-board reference voltage reference.The MAX1102EUA uses a low-noise signal acquisition method that reduces coring and improves signal linearity at the input pins. A 4th-order modulator is used to convert the input signal into a noise-shaped digital signal. This signal is then passed through a digital signal filter, the output of which is the final 16-bit resolution digital signal. The device has an internal 8-bit digital filter that can be adjusted to reduce the output noise and distortion.The MAX1102EUA is designed for fast sampling applications that require high linearity, low noise, and fast conversion rate.
