Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) is a device that analog signals are converted into digital signals. The MAX126EVKIT evaluation board is designed to provide an easy-to-use and flexible platform for evaluating the performance of the MAX126 10-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter in various applications such as industrial automation, sensing, data acquisition and control systems.The MAX126EVKIT enables users to quickly evaluate and readily simulate different ADC applications. This Evaluation Board enables users to evaluate a wide range of analog inputs, output digital codes and measure various electrical parameters with an oscilloscope or digital voltmeter. The MAX126EVKIT also generates the reference voltage using a Maxim Op Amp or adjustable voltage source.The MAX126EVKIT supports different online or offline evaluation modes for user convenience. User can evaluate ADC performance in simple steps. First, select a measurement mode like differential input, single-ended input, or output code. Then, provide an analog signal that will be converted into digital by the ADC. And finally observe digital data output on the measuring instrument.The evaluation board consists two types of signal connector inputs. The first connector is mainly used for differential analog inputs. The differential inputs range from 5V to 0V and the single-ended inputs range from +5 to -5V. The second connector is used for single-ended analog input range from +5V to 0V. Both connectors\' input pins are connected to the MAX126 10-bit ADC via the passive components.The MAX126EVKIT board also integrates one 16-bit parallel digital output port to provide digital output. This 16-bit parallel port consists three 5-Red and five 5-White push buttons. These are used to substitute the D/A converter to observe the digital code output of MAX126 ADC. Also, a MAX232 interface is available on the evaluation board to connect to PC using serial communication instead of the 16-bit parallel port.The MAX126EVKIT enables users to measure the Digital Output using an oscilloscope and directly monitor its values. This board allows users to measure the input voltage level, digital output code, input offset and settling time using the on-board DMM. Also the on-board voltage sources enable users to generate analog signals that are to be converted.The MAX126EVKIT evaluation board provides an easy-to-use platform to measure the performance and accuracy of the MAX126 10-bit ADC. This board is specifically designed for industrial automation and control system applications where input signals need to be converted from analog to digital. The board also allows users to simulate and study various types of ADC applications and comes with documentation and software support that allows beginner to understand the fundamentals of ADC. In summary, the MAX126EVKIT evaluation board from Maxim Integrated design facilitates rapid prototyping of analog-to-digital applications in real-time testing. This evaluation board also offers features such as adjustable voltage sources, DMM, MAX232 interface, 16-bit parallel port coupled with detailed documentation and user manual to assist users in designing and evaluating circuitry.
