MAX13450EAUD+ is a highly integrated, low-power, multichannel analog-to-digital converter (ADC) designed to maximize performance, reduce system size, and increase reliability in portable applications such as those found in the audio and industrial markets. The MAX13450EAUD+ offers a single-ended, 8-channel integrated ADC with a built-in 12-bit decimator and programmable digital filters.The MAX13450EAUD+ is capable of sample rates up to 320ksps, with multiple input ranges from 20 mV to 5 V, and high signal-to-noise-plus-distortion ratios (THD+N) of 73 dBFS. The device also provides superior linearity of 1.0 percent and dynamic performance (SFDR) of 88 dBFS. The MAX13450EAUD+ has an adaptive power supply, requiring a single 3.3V to 5.5V voltage supply for the entire signal chain. The integrated power supply supports both the ADC and related peripherals, for a truly single-supply solution.The MAX13450EAUD+ application field involves a wide range of applications, some of which include portable audio, power management, and ultrasound imaging. The device is mainly used in audio-video applications and can be found in digital still cameras, soundboard synthesizers, MIDI systems, video distribution, television tuning, and DVD decoding, as well as in industrial applications, such as acoustic sensing, noninvasive medical imaging, biometric sensing, and industrial control.MAX13450EAUD+\'s working principle is based on its key components, which facilitate the analog-to-digital conversion. The key components include an 8-channel analog-to-digital converter, a 12-bit decimator, digitally programmable filters, and an integrated power supply.The ADC consists of two main components, the analog signal chain and the digital signal chain. The analog signal chain consists of a bipolar input, programmed gain stages, an ADC reference, and an analog output buffer. The digital signal chain consists of a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), filters, an ADC clock, and a digital control bus.The DECIMATOR is a 12-bit, 6/7-stage pipeline ADC with a maximum sample rate of 320ksps. The digital filter is a 4th-order, switched-capacitor low-pass filter with programmable parameters for frequency, order, and corner frequencies. The adjustable filter picks up the wanted signal from the noise level, providing a more accurate signal, thereby improving overall performance.The integrated power supply module supports both the analog components and digital circuitry, and provides a single 3.3V to 5.5V supply rail to the analog and digital sections. This simplifies the power solution and reduces the size of the system.The MAX13450EAUD+ offers a high level of system performance, combined with a low power dissipation (1.1mW) and a small package, enabling it to be used in a wide range of applications.
