MAX1487ECSA+ Application Field and Working PrincipleInterface - Drivers, Receivers, TransceiversThe MAX1487ECSA+ is a high-performance, multi-protocol transceiver used in a variety of next-generation mobile and communications products, including smartphones, tablets, routers, and more. MAX1487ECSA+ supports two different protocols: LTE and GSM single-carrier (SC) radio. This transceiver supports both duplex and half duplex communication, improving antenna utilization and reducing cost for the end product.The MAX1487ECSA+ transceiver is designed to run between RF front-end components and base-band mixed-signal circuitry in LTE and SC radio applications. It supports a variety of duplex or half duplex communication modes between these two signaling circuits. Not only is it applicable to a wide variety of mobile networks, it offers robust thermal performance and high ESD immunity.The main operations of the MAX1487ECSA+ transceiver include: receiving and transmitting radio signals, switching and filtering, combining and amplifying signals, RF signal conditioning, and analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion.The MAX1487ECSA+ is designed to receive and transmit radio signals with low power consumption, low inter-channel isolation, and low distortion and noise. The receiver section of the transceiver consists of RF downconv ersion, baseband signal processing, and AGC control, while the transmitter section consists of RF upconversion and baseband signal processing.The RF input signal is digitized using an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and is downconverted by an RF synthesizer circuit. The baseband signal processing uses an advanced digital signal processor (DSP) to produce the desired signal.
