The MAX1490BCPG+ is ideal for embedded applications, including microcontrollers, mid-range microcontrollers, motor controllers, and other industrial control systems. The device integrates a wide range of serial bus transceivers for easy interfacing between various microcontrollers, signal transceivers, and communication protocols. It is designed to provide a flexible and cost-effective solution for microcontroller to communicate with slow and fast serial devices.Application FieldThe high performance transceiver in the MAX1490BCPG+ chip enables it to be used in various applications across a wide range of industrial sectors. The UART mode allows the MAX1490BCPG+ to send and receive data asynchronously with any 8-/16-bit microcontroller. The onboard buffered serial interface (BSI), digital-to-analog (D/A) converter, and RX/TX buffer reduce transmit and receive latency to minimize data latency and reduce power consumption. The SSI mode allows the MAX1490BCPG+ to use full-duplex communication and to send and receive data simultaneously. The device supports a variety of SSI data rates, including both master and slave modes.The MAX1490BCPG+ includes an onboard programmable logic array (PLA) to program the transceiver’s communication interface and allow it to be optimized for a variety of serial communication applications. The PLA allows the configuration of RX/TX channels and data bus exchange, and the ability to program low-latency receive and transmit operations.
