The MAX16815ATT+T is a high-performance, low-noise, one-channel, constant-current inductive-load driver, which together with a single-cell Li-ion/Li-polymer battery, or three-cell alkaline/NiMH batteries, is used for primary power applications. It is designed for low power and can deliver up to 80mA of charging current for Li-ion/ Li-polymer batteries. The board has an integrated low-ripple constant current/constant voltage (CC/CV) buck regulator, as well as an accurate current-sense amplifier and a temperature switch for protection. It is suitable for applications such as robotic arms, white goods, etc.. Also, it is designed for white LED driver in LCD backlight and is compliant with JEDEC standard.

Application Field

The MAX16815ATT+T is suitable for applications such as robotic arms and white goods which require low power. It is also a primary power source for LED lighting with up to 80mA of charging current, as well as a low-noise, one-channel, constant-current inductive-load driver with an integrated low-ripple constant current/constant voltage (CC/CV) buck regulator. Working Principle

When the input voltage is greater than the voltage drop (Vout), the output current will be automatically limited to a specific level. This current limit is the main feature of the MAX16815ATT+T, and it allows the product to operate in its safe operating area, which is defined as the maximum peak output current it can deliver continuously.

The MAX16815ATT+T uses a constant current/constant voltage (CC/CV) operation mode. It will regulate the output voltage and keep it steady to prevent overcharging, undercharging, and other erratic conditions. Furthermore, the board has an integrated current-sense amplifier to accurately monitor the output current, enabling the device to adjust the charging current automatically according to the external temperature.
