The MAX16920BEVKIT+ evaluation boards are a type of DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. They are designed to evaluate efficiency, power loss, and transient response of Power-Factor-Correction (PFC)buck regulators that operate from an input voltage of 88Vac to 265Vac. The boards also provide a wide range of output voltage options from 0.6V to 48V and support for output current up to 1A. The board includes two separate parts, an AC/DC power module and a DC/DC control board.

The AC/DC power module consists of an active PFC buck regulator and a reference voltage source. The PFC buck regulator is rated for input voltages of 88Vac to 265Vac and output voltage of 0.6V to 48V. The PFC regulator is designed to minimize power loss by providing a high input current-mode control system. The reference voltage source provides a low-ripple input voltage reference.
