The MAX1700EEE+ is a low-cost, high-performance switching regulator designed for DC-DC applications. It is a step-down converter capable of delivering up to 2A of output current at up to 2MHz switching frequency. The MAX1700EEE+ combines the latest process node technology with advanced features such as output adjustable voltage, thermal protection, and an external synchronization loop for wide input voltage applications. It can be used as either a step-down or step-up regulator and offers a wide input voltage range from 2.5V to 17V, adjustable output voltage from 0.6V to 17V, and up to 95% efficiency. The device also features low quiescent current of less than 3μA, low noise operation, and excellent transient response.

The MAX1700EEE+ works by converting an input DC voltage to a regulated output voltage. It works by switching a high-side MOSFET between two voltages, the input and a regulation node, at a frequency determined by the device\'s internal oscillator. During the ON time, energy is stored in the inductor, capacitor and the load. During the OFF time, energy is released from the load and returned to the input side. To regulate the output voltage, the ON and OFF times are changed depending on the load current and the reference voltage.
