DC-DC switching regulators are a type of linear power regulating device that can effectively provide a regulated output voltage or current at a higher voltage than its input voltage. The MAX1709EUI+T is a low-cost single switch synchronous DC-DC buck regulator that is housed in a tiny 10 pin, 0.8mmx1.4mm ultra-thin wafer level chip scale package (UCSP) and is specifically designed for high-performance, 3.2V to 39V microprocessor (μP) core supply applications. It offers a low quiescent current of 10 mA and supports a high PWM modulation frequency of 2.2 MHz.
The regulator is designed to operate by switch-mode conversion and pulse-width-modulation of the input.
