MAX17243ETPA+T Application Field
The MAX17243ETPA+T is ideal for power management applications such as notebook PCs, durable power supplies, mobile phone chargers, power adapters and industrial power supplies. It features a wide input voltage range from 4.5V to 24V and a low quiescent current of 85uA with varying frequency. Moreover, it offers a variable frequency up to 2.0 MHz operating range, over-temperature and over-current protection and low external component count.
MAX17243ETPA+T Working Principle
The MAX17243ETPA+T is an integrated FET driver that combines a reguction current sense amplifier and FET driver. The current sense amplifier provides precision current regulation with an output current accuracy of ±3% and full load transient start-up accuracy of ±2%. The current sense amplifier converts the differential input signal of a signal voltage to a digital logic level output voltage. This output signal is used by the FET driver to drive the FET gate and thus, varying the amount of gate current flowing to the FET.
In addition to providing current regulation, the MAX17243ETPA+T also offers a wide range of programmable features such as over-current, over-voltage, over-temperature,and under-voltage protections. Furthermore, it features internal temperature compensation that ensures protection over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The IC also offers a low shutdown current of 1μA and a low quiescent current of 85μA.
The MAX17243ETPA+T is a highly integrated FET driver which enables the design and implementation of chargers in power management applications. It is packaged in a thermally enhanced package.
