The MAX17521ATG+T is an integrated high–efficiency and compact 6A, synchronous step–down DC–DC switching regulator optimized for space–constraining, power–critical applications. The low–voltage device provides a solution with efficiencies up to 95% at a wide 4.5V to 28V input voltage range. The converter is capable of delivering 6A continuous output load current from a small 5 mm x 6 mm QFN package. The wide input voltage range supports various industrial, automotive, and communication applications. The device operates between -40°C to +125°C junction temperature and is HBM, ESD, and latch–up tested to meet the automotive quality standard of AEC–Q100.

The MAX17521ATG+T is a synchronous step–down DC–DC regulator that operates from an input supply voltage range of 4.5V to 28V and provides output voltages from 0.6V to 18V. The device includes an integrated high–side and low–side power MOSFETs that switches up to 6A peak output load current with a typical efficiencies above 95% and up to 94% internal slope compensation for improved transient response. The device features an ultrafast internal compensation and cycle–by–cycle current limiting, as well as thermal and short–circuit protection.

The switching frequency of the MAX17521ATG+T is adjustable from 300 kHz to 1.2 MHz to support a wide range of external components. For applications where precise timing of output voltage rising edge is critical, the device supports spread spectrum modulation, which allows precise control of rising edge timing and low electromagnetic interference (EMI). Additionally, integrated output voltage soft start reduces the in–rush current, making the part suitable for a wide range of applications including those with thermal constraints.

The high–efficiency, low component count, and compact package size of the MAX17521ATG+T make it an ideal choice for power–critical, space–constrained applications, such as industrial, automotive, and communication systems.
