The first stage is a differential amplifier which provides high linearity and low noise, while the second stage is a low-noise cascode amplifier, which enhances gain and linearity. The third stage is a voltage-controlled variable gain amplifier (VCA) which provides gain control and phase matching of each RF input port. The fourth and final stage is a Wilkinson power combiner, which combines the 3 inputs into a single output port.
The MAX2679ENS+T also features a low-noise PLL design with a noise figure (NF) of 6dB, which provides stable gain and phase matching over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. This ensures that the amplifier remains linear and performs well over a wide temperature range.
