The MAX2769ETI+T is a miniature, single-chip, dual-band, dual-conversion RF receiver, designed for use in mobile handsets and multimode communication systems. It features excellent linearity and low power consumption, making it a perfect fit for cellular phones, portable-data terminals, and other wireless communication applications.The MAX2769ETI+T is an integrated, dual-band receiver that operates over GSM 850/1900 MHz and DCS 1800 MHz RF bands. The receiver offers flexibility, allowing it to be used for both single-band and dual-band applications. In single-band applications, the device can be configured to operate over either GSM 900/1800 or GSM 850/1900 band. In dual-band applications, the device can operate over both GSM 850/1900 and DCS 1800 bands simultaneously.The MAX2769ETI+T features a low noise amplifier (LNA), a control/mixer, down-conversion mixers, a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), and an automatic gain control (AGC) loop. The LNA is optimized for low noise and high input level, making it an ideal choice for GSM and DCS reception. The receiver is capable of receiving up to 0dBm of input power with only 6mV of input noise floor, which is equivalent to a noise figure of less than 0.5dB.The control/mixer is a frequency-tracking down-converting mixer with a wide working range from 0dBm to 14dBm. This enables the MAX2769ETI+T to achieve outstanding sensitivity for GSM and DCS bands, allowing it to reliably receive signals of up to -110dBm. The PGA allows for the gain of the receiver to be adjusted to either optimize the receiver performance or save power in applications where the sensitivity is not needed. The PGA also offers a programmable dynamic range, allowing the user to adjust the relationship between the input power and the gain of the receiver. The AGC loop consists of an AGC detector, a slew-controlled AGC amplifier, and a digital loop realized by the internal processor. The AGC loop allows the MAX2769ETI+T to provide a highly linear gain response over a wide input range (up to 0dBm). This ensures that the receiver is able to maintain a stable and consistent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) throughout its operating range. The MAX2769ETI+T is also equipped with a low-noise direct-conversion local oscillator (LO), allowing the receiver to achieve outstanding sensitivity for GSM and DCS bands. The LO also allows the user to select between two frequency modes: frequency doubler or single-frequency oscillator mode. This allows the user to choose between low-power operation or higher sensitivity and higher linearity, respectively. The MAX2769ETI+T is a highly integrated solution for GSM and DCS reception, offering a wide range of features and benefits that make it an ideal choice for today’s mobile handsets and multimode communication systems.
