The MAX4243EUB is an instrumentation amplifier that, when combined with a rear-selectable gain stage, offers versatile and accurate signal-conditioning solutions for resistive transducers. This device was designed for use in demanding test and measurement applications where precision, accuracy and low offset voltage are important. The MAX4243EUB is a low-power, low-noise instrumentation amplifier with high CMRR (common-mode rejection ratio) and low offset voltage. It supports a wide range of display and analog signal-conditioning applications and is available in a range of gain stages from 1 to 256.

The MAX4243EUB consists of two operational amplifiers and an architecture that allows for both differential and single-ended inputs. The first amplifier (A1) in the gain block provides the differential input signal while the second amplifier (A2) amplifies the signal with a selectable gain. The gain of A1 and A2 can be desired independently with a single external resistor. The overall gain of the MAX4243EUB is determined by the external resistor gain and A1 or A2 gains.

The internal architecture of the MAX4243EUB helps to reduce the source of noise and distortion. The ac signal-path uses high quality, low noise devices with a bandwidth of up to 1 MHz.
