The MAX4429CPA+ gate driver operates on the principle of direct gate drive with current sensing. The gate drive is provided by two independent low-side MOSFET outputs, which can be configured as high-side or low-side drivers.When the output (IN) is low, the corresponding low-side output (OUT) is driven low. When the IN is high, the corresponding low-side output (OUT) is driven high and the voltage is monitored by the current-sensing loop. As soon as the current reaches its desired level, the OUT is switched off. This prevents the device from generating excessive noise when the switch is turned off.
