The MAX4501ESA is a two-channel, single-pole, double throw (SPDT) analog switch with an integrated electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. It provides best-in-class signal switching performance and can handle signals with up to 28V of peak-to-peak swing.

The MAX4501ESA provides guaranteed on-resistance flatness of 1 Ω over its full 0 V to +28V dynamic range, making it an ideal solution for switching signals in a variety of applications, such as industrial and consumer audio, video, and communication products. Its low-charge injection of only 1.5pC, low typical switching power of 1.5µW, and high signal isolation of 64kV/µs make it ideal for switching applications where high signal integrity is required.

Finally, it is pin-compatible with the industry-standard DG211/DG212, which makes it easier to replace existing analog switches.

The working principle of the MAX4501ESA is simple. When the analog input signal is applied to the two input pins, the integrated ESD protection kicks in and the switch then routes the input signal to one of the two output pins based on the logic level state at the enable pin. When the enable pin is high, then the input signal is routed to the output pin (OUT1). When the enable switch is low, then the input signal is routed to the other output pin (OUT2).
