The MAX4609CPE+ is an interface—Analog Switches, Multiplexers and Demultiplexers—created by Maxim Integrated, and is used in a wide array of applications. This device is not just limited to analog switching, but it can be used for connecting, disconnecting and multiplexing signals between circuits.
The MAX4609CPE+ is a low power CMOS device that operates from a single +2.7V to +6V supply voltage and has an enable feature that, when enabled, it places the all switches in an OFF state. The device also operates in the temperature range from -40oC to +85oC and is available in a space-saving 14-pin TSSOP package.
The MAX4609CPE+ consists of four electronically controlled single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) analog switches and two multiplexer/demultiplexers (MUX/DEMUX). The MUX/DEMUX are 5:1, 1:5 spread-spectrum such that outputs do not transition simultaneously. The MAX4609CPE+ operates in both digital and analog signal environments and its low signal-to-noise ratio of 115dB makes it particularly suitable for signal routing and signal switching applications in digital and analog systems.
The MAX4609CPE+ has three control pins: Enable, Input Controls, and Output Control. These controls provide dynamic signal routing capabilities between two signal levels and power. The Enable pin puts the device in a low-power OFF state. The Input Control controls the input multiplexer and the Output Control controls the output multiplexer. In addition, the device can be inhibited be holding the Input Control and Output Control pins low.
