The MAX4618CSE+ is an integrated switching device from Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. It is an analog multiplexer/demultiplexer and switch in one device that can be used for multiple applications. The n-channel FET switches are arranged like a 3-by-2 matrix and use four control lines, three bits for each direction, to control the path of two inputs. The four control lines (CTRL1/2/3/4) provide the logic for both the multiplexer and demultiplexer modes. This feature allows the MAX4618CSE+ to be used for switching power to/from multiple devices without having to route signals across a single IC.
The MAX4618CSE+ also features a highly efficient power management system that protects against surges in power supply voltage. This system will respond to any increase or decrease in supply voltage and will take appropriate action to ensure the safe operation of the device while still taking into account the voltage requirements of any connected peripherals.
