The MAX4659EUA-T is a single, low on-resistance, analog switch with a signal range of -2V to 6.5V. It operates from 5V or 3V and is designed to be used in a variety of signal-routing applications. The MAX4659EUA-T’s signal range is designed to accommodate signal levels up to 0.75V beyond the power-supply rails.

The MAX4659EUA-T was designed to replace one or more electromechanical switches, multiplexers and/or demultiplexers. It has two 512Ω single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) analog switches with a very low 0.003Ω on-resistance per channel. The channel 0 and channel 1 switches have an off-leakage current of ±5nA, when operated from a 5V supply, and ±10nA for a 3V supply.

The MAX4659EUA-T has an on/off control pin and an active low output enable pin that are used to control the operation of the switch. The on/off control pin activates the switch when a logic low signal is applied, and deactivates it when a logic high signal is applied. The output enable pin deactivates the switches when a logic low signal is applied, and activates them when a logic high signal is applied. Both control pins are TTL/CMOS compatible.

The MAX4659EUA-T also features a 9ns turn-on/off time and 2.2µs minimum on-off circuit delay. It has a 0.300pF capacitive load drive capability and 5mA continuous current-carrying capability per channel. It is available in a small, 8-pin (3mm x 4mm) package, making it suitable for use in space-constrained applications.
