MAX4702ETE+ is an interface device used to implement a form of Analog Switches, Multiplexers, and Demultiplexers. It is a single-pole, double throw (SPDT) switch integrated circuit that allows user to determine which of two input signals gets outputted. The device is fabricated using CMOS process and housed in a 6-pin package. It provides isolation of up to 40V on the two switched outputs and can operate in both switching and switching/buffering modes.
The basic idea behind an analog switch is that it allows for the easy selection and routing of analog input signals. When used in switching mode, the two input signals are not connected to the two outputs until the digital input is asserted. This mode is useful when you need to switch between two circuits but also need to provide some form of isolation between them.
The MAX4702ETE+ comes with an onboard shutdown pin that, when asserted, forces all channels to a high impedance state (no switching).
