Interface - Analog Switches, Multiplexers, Demultiplexers are key enablers for emerging applications in mobile and wearbale electronics, robotics, industrial automation and IoT (Internet of Things). Though such applications often require only low-speed signals, the need for switch and multiplexer performance, high speed, low power operation and scalability of port count remain critical to the success of the implementation.
The MAX4747ETE+ is an EMI-filtered, low-voltage, bidirectional, spst, analog switch designed to handle both low-speed and high-speed signal with signal integrity and low power operation. Operating from a single 2.4V to 5.5V supply, it draws just an 1µA (typ) supply current and maintains 1.2Ω (typ) on-resistance from -40°C to +125°C. In addition, it includes two EMI filter networks that provide a low-noise signal path and reduce EMI coupling from the switch.
The MAX4747ETE+ device also has segmented architecture that allows for easy scaling of port count for space-constrained applications. With its improved signal handling, low power operation and high-speed switching times, the MAX4747ETE+ are ideal for applications that require a high degree of signal integrity while maintaining a low power and small form factor design.
The MAX4747ETE+ analog switch can be used in various applications such as driving high power loads, high-precision signal conditioning, consumer audio equipment, low-voltage DSL phone/modem lines, ADC drivers and clock dividers, USB transceivers and more. It also features very low on-resistance and a low-capacitance guarantee the faithful signal response of connected components.
The MAX4747ETE+ is optimized for use in fast switching applications with a maximum switch on-resistance of 1-ohm and rapid switching times of 7 ns on and 6 ns off. It also features very tight on-resistance matching and low leakage current, which are critical for many high-precision signal conditioning applications such as sample-and-hold circuits and ADCs. It provides a fast, low-power switch solution in a small, SO-10 package that enables space-constrained designs.
In terms of its working principle, the MAX4747ETE+ has three control pins, one for each switch.When the EN pin is pulled low, the switch is turned off; when EN is pulled high, the switch is turned on. The MAX4747ETE+ also features a logic-level translation circuit that allows the switch to be driven by either 1.8V to 5.5V logic while still maintaining 1.2Ω on resistance.
The MAX4747ETE+ features EMI filtering on both the IN and OUT pins. This allows for reduction of signal integrity issues with high-speed digital signals that can cause EMI issues. The EMI filtering on both input and output pins increases the signal integrity, preventing signal distortion and providing reliable connections.
