The MAX4948ETG+ is an analog switch and multiplexer for automotive applications. It is designed for use in Avionics and Automotive systems, as well as in industrial and consumer applications. It allows the connection of up to four analog signals, such as sensors or feedback signals and provides 16 independently-controlled analog switches in a compact 8-pin package. Its integrated ESD protection and low on-resistance makes it ideal for use in harsh operating environments.

The MAX4948ETG+ simplifies design and reduces component count, while providing superior performance. Working Principle

The MAX4948ETG+ integrates sixteen independent analog switches in a single chip. Each switch is capable of connecting one analog signal to any of the four available analog connections. The device can be controlled either by the open-drain control inputs or the two-wire interface. The two-wire interface can be programmed to allow multiple signals to be routed simultaneously.

Each switch has separate input and output pins, as well as a logic input pin which enables the switch. The device also has an integrated ESD protection circuit that protects the device from electrostatic discharge. The ESD circuit is triggered when the input pin is shorted to ground, preventing the device from being damaged by electrostatic discharge.

The MAX4948ETG+ also has protective circuitry to protect the device from short-circuit and over-voltage conditions. The device will shut down if it is over-voltage or short-circuited, preventing damage to the device and its connected circuits.
