The Zero Crossing Detection scheme used in MAX5048AAUT-T detects a zero crossing condition on the high-side and low-side transistors output, and immediately detects the current position. The peak voltage is sensed directly from the oscilloscope output while the valley is measured using a voltage comparator (Vcom).The Vcom sends a signal to the gate driver when the voltage outage is detected, paralysing the gate driver immediately. The control logic in the MAX5048AAUT-T monitors the voltage, current and temperature of the high-side and low-side transistors, providing for window-guard protection for the gate driver.
