It is well-suited for applications such as consumer electronics, telecom and networking systems, as well as industrial and medical equipment.Working Principle: The MAX5919AEEE+T HS controller operates off a single 3-5V power supply. Its on-chip voltage regulator can step down a higher input voltage to a lower output voltage. When an external MOSFET is used, the device senses the voltage across the source pad of the MOSFET, which is driven by the HS logic input. When the logic input is set to high, the device goes into a current limit mode. The current begins to ramp up until the voltage across the source pad of the MOSFET is approximately 0.7V. At this point, the device limits the current to a safe level. Once the voltage across the MOSFET’s source pad drops below 0.7V, the device will regulate the current.
