Power management integrated circuits (PMICs) are key components of all electrical and electronic systems. They provide the power requirements necessary to keep all other components of the system functioning optimally. In order to improve the reliability of systems, and particularly of connected systems, Hot Swap Controllers are used for the safe introduction and removal of loads. The MAX5920AESA+ is a Hot Swap Controller which provides protection for voltage and current overshoots, coming from connected devices, and system shorts. Application Field
The MAX5920AESA+ is designed for Vbus hot swapping in applications with up to 24V and 12A. It is suitable for inrush current control and current limitation in any system which is vulnerable to unexpected surges, over-currents or changes in current intensity. Working Principle
