It is designed to act as an interface between the power supply and the load and provide circuit protection against accidental over voltage, short circuit and over-current conditions. The MAX5961ETM+ is specifically designed to provide full protection in high power systems such as server infrastructures, computer motherboard power supply systems and industrial applications.
The MAX5961ETM+ is a Hot-Swap controller with over-voltage protection (OVP), adjustable current limit, over temperature protection (OTP) and two isolated auxiliary power supplies. The OTP feature detects an over temperature condition, and shuts down the hot-swap controller’s output.
