MAX6307UK35D2-T Supervisors are highly-integrated modules designed for a variety of applications that require reliable over- and undervoltage detection. They are typically used in consumer electronics, automotive and battery-operated devices, such as notebooks, tablets and cell phones. The MAX6307UK35D2-T Supervisors combines over-, undervoltage comparators and a variety of reset outputs, as well as many other features, enabling a wide range of design possibilities. It is a surface-mountable device and has very small footprints. It is designed with a four-layer protective structure, which is implemented to protect the system from potential damage caused by overvoltage transients or missed window conditions.The MAX6307UK35D2-T Supervisor operates through a comparator, which is used to detect if the input voltage is within a predetermined range. When the input voltage falls outside of this range, the output of the comparator is used to reset the system and take corrective action.The MAX6307UK35D2-T features an adjustable warning-voltage (WV) threshold and a trip-voltage (TV) threshold. The WV is the voltage which triggers a warning or alert to the user. If the input voltage exceeds the WV, the reset generator is enabled. The TV is the upper voltage limit. If the input voltage reaches the TV, the reset generator is activated.The MAX6307UK35D2-T also features an adjustable window-of-operation (WO). The WO is the voltage range where the system should not be reset. If the input voltage exceeds the WV or falls below the TV, the reset generator is activated, but if it is within the WO, no reset is generated.Other features of the MAX6307UK35D2-T include an open-drain active-high reset, an active-low reset, an active-high reset, a power-on reset, an interrupt pin, and a reset alert pin. The active-high reset is activated when the WV is exceeded, the active-low reset is activated when the TV is exceeded, the power-on reset is activated when the input voltage rises above a predetermined value, the interrupt pin is activated when the TV or WV is exceeded, and the reset alert pin is activated when a reset is generated.The MAX6307UK35D2-T Supervisor is also equipped with a fault-logging system, which monitors all reset events and can be used to diagnose faults. The fault-logging system allows the user to set up the Supervisor to log all reset events, allowing the user to quickly diagnose system issues. This feature is especially useful for automotive applications, where diagnostics are required in order to assess and repair the system.The MAX6307UK35D2-T is designed for applications requiring low-power and reliable system resets.
