Working Principle
The MAX6314US28D4+T works based on the different operating thresholds which have been set by the user. The supervisor monitors both supply and temperature voltages for user-defined high and low set points. The MAX6314US28D4+T has a hysteresis band around the Low Voltage Detection Level (LVDL) Voltage Trip Point and different temperature thresholds. The reset output is activated when either the input voltage is outside the user-defined low or high voltage trip point range or when the temperature is outside the user-defined low or high temperature trip points. The MAX6314US28D4+T includes a Reset Timer watchdog. The Reset Timer is a pulse-width (PW) timer that helps prevent false reset signals due to device startup glitches. It causes an assertion at the end of the pulse period if a reset has not been cleared. This helps in avoiding lockup scenarios that may occur due to glitchy signals. The MAX6314US28D4+T is powered by a biCMOS technology which offers better accuracy in comparison to traditional technologies. The biCMOS technology further extended the input voltage range of the device up to 5.5V which makes it suitable for various applications.
