The MAX6386XS22D3+ is a member of the family of microprocessor (µP) supervisors specifically designed to support telecommunication, industrial and network system applications where reliable processor control power is needed. The family\'s wide 2.50V to 5.50V input supply range and precision trip thresholds provide reliable system control power, helping to ensure correct operation. With such a wide range of features, it’s no surprise that this supervisor is well suited for a variety of applications.

At the heart of the MAX6386XS22D3+ is an advanced, low quiescent current CMOS circuit design capable of providing µP power monitoring and reset functions on a single chip. This supervisor acts as an interface between the µP and its power supply, ensuring that the operations of both remain in sync. It does this by using one low-power comparator for monitoring a supply voltage against a preset trigger or threshold level, and another comparator for generating a reset signal when the monitored voltage falls below the preset threshold. Additionally, the supervisor supports extra signal-monitoring or supply-sequencing features.

On the MAX6386XS22D3+ supervisor, the Reset Output Threshold (ROT) is typically set to 2.9V, and this can be changed via an external voltage divider. It also has a hysteresis of typically 100mV, and an active-low active-high clamp Schmitt trigger output option. The Reset Output Enable (ROE) threshold is typically set to 3.3V, and can also be programmed externally to any ROT value between 2.5V and 5.5V with a hysteresis of typically 50mV. This supervisory circuit is also capable of monitoring several inputs, such as power-down signals, supply sequence signals, watchdog timer signals, and low-battery signals.

The MAX6386XS22D3+ is designed to survive in harsh environments, offers a temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, and operates from 2.50V to 5.50V over the full temperature range. This superintendent is offered in 8-pin SOIC and 8-pin TDFN packages for surface mount applications
