Working Principle

The MAX6334UR18D3-T is comprised of two main components. The first component is a voltage supervisor circuit that uses two voltage bandgap references to accurately monitor two different input voltages: V DD 1 and V DD 2.The other component is a circuit to monitor system temperature with a single temperature threshold. Both components have associated reset outputs.

The voltage supervisor monitors the input voltages with a minimum voltage pull-down threshold of V DD Th, then raises the RESET output from low to high when it detects a minimum voltage level. The voltage supervisor contains an internal S-R latch to hold the RESET in a high state or low state. The reset state of the outputs is determined by monitoring the input voltages. If either V DD 1 or V DD 2 drops below the threshold value (V DD Th) the status of RESET changes and holds until both voltages are within valid ranges.

The temperature monitor section switches its outputs when the temperature measurement reaches T Threshold. As the internal temperature of the device itself rises above T Threshold, the Watchdog Timer and Reset Out pulse. The Watchdog Timer remains in reset until the temperature measurement falls below T Threshold. To reset the Watchdog Timer the voltage at V DD 2 must rise and maintain a valid voltage level for the duration of Watchdog Time before the Watchdog Timer pulse is turned off and the system is restarted cleanly.
