Introduction

Working Principle

When the voltage at the monitoring pin (VIN) exceeds a set threshold, the MAX6381XR39D2+T generates a reset or an interrupt signal depending on the settings. Similarly, when the input voltage drops below the preset threshold, the MAX6381XR39D2+T will also generate a reset or an interrupt signal.When the device is operated in power-on/ramp reset mode, the output is activated to reset all components in the system after a programmable delay. The duration of the reset delay can be adjusted via an external capacitor, enabling the system to reboot or reset within a user specified range.The MAX6381XR39D2+T supervisor also features a watchdog timer, which will trigger a system reset if no reset signal is received from the processor in the system within a user-defined span of time, thus preventing system lockup which might otherwise occur as a result of a hardware/software issue.
