The MAX6385XS24D5-T is an ultra-low-power supervisory circuit ideal for monitoring low-voltage microprocessor core supplies in portable systems, wireless handsets and more. It requires a minimum supply voltage of 1.5V and can operate on supply voltage levels as low as 0.9V, making it suitable for Li-Ion battery-powered applications. The MAX6385XS24D5-T has a wide range of functions, such as programmable reset comparator and watchdog timer, manual reset input, watchdog time-out modes, active-low and active-high reset Outputs, and multiple power-up sequence delay circuits. It also provides fast response and two configurable reset thresholds.

The MAX6385XS24D5-T is designed to protect devices and systems from damage due to dangerous overvoltage and undervoltage conditions. When the input voltage falls below or rises above a pre-set threshold, the MAX6385XS24D5-T will activate its RESET output, thus halting further operation. Once the input voltage returns to the normal range, the output will automatically restore the system back to its normal working state.

The MAX6385XS24D5-T provides two configurable reset thresholds: the Watchdog (WD) reset threshold and the Manual (MN) reset threshold. If both thresholds are enabled, the device will automatically generate a reset signal when either the WD or the MN threshold is exceeded. The reset signal is then used to stop further operation and allow a reset sequence to be initiated. The WD threshold is set using a 6-bit WDSET bus. The WD threshold range is between 0.9V and 2.45V, and the resolution is about 38mV per bit. The MN threshold is set to a fixed voltage of 1.3V via the VDDA input.

The MAX6385XS24D5-T is extremely power efficient with a quiescent current as low as 150nA and a maximum power dissipation of only 0.08mW. This makes it ideal for battery-powered systems that require low-power operation. The device is available in thermally enhanced SOT23-5 and UDFN packages, and is qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 2.
