The MAX6385XS29D6-T is a series of advanced system power supply supervisors designed in the form of ultra-small, low-power ThinSOTTM packages. This series of power supervisors provides one push-pull power-good (PG) output, two silicon oxide nitride oxyde semiconductor (SONOS)-based reset outputs, and two watchdog reset outputs. Designed with a 0.9V to 5.5V operating voltage, this series of supervisors can be applied in a wide range of 3V and 5V applications.
The MAX6385XS29D6-T integrates several key circuit components which enable it to provide the most accurate power-good input over its operating range, reliable output latches to guarantee accurate power-on/power-off performance, and a built-in watchdog timer with an adjustable time delay.
The primary function of the MAX6385XS29D6-T is to detect power-good levels and then act locally to reset the system properly. This series of supervisory circuits helps minimize system reset times by reducing the amount of circuitry the designer needs to provide to achieve the same results. By using this series of devices, the designer can create more reliable systems with less complexity. Additionally, the MAX6385XS29D6-T series also feature an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C and a maximum operating supply current of 1.2mA.
The MAX6385XS29D6-T has two different modes of operation, active and inactive. In active mode, the device monitors the input supply for an overvoltage, current limit, and short-circuit conditions and trips the reset output and power-good output at the first sign of a problem. In inactive mode, the MAX6385XS29D6-T monitors only overvoltage, current limit, and short-circuit conditions and trips the reset output and power-good output at the appropriate time. The reset output is open drain, allowing the designer to directly drive open-collector logic and opto-isolaters. The watchdog input can be used to monitor the system for proper initialization and will trip the reset output after a set amount of time. The MAX6385XS29D6-T also features an adjustable wide-range reset threshold window.
On top of its features, the MAX6385XS29D6-T also incorporates a number of protection and signaling features that are critical to providing protection from power-supply or system-level irregularities.
