The MAX6700UT+T is a multi-output linear supervisory circuit used for local power supply supervision, device enable and system reset. Designed for applications requiring low power, low noise, and fast system reset, the MAX6700UT+T offers high accuracy and low cost compared to traditional solutions. The MAX6700UT+T is ideally suited for a wide range of applications in consumer and industrial electronic systems including mobile phone, tablets, IC cards and industrial controls.

The MAX6700UT+T is a low-power supervisor with 2 open-drain reset outputs and 2 remote voltage monitor outputs. External fault inputs and manual reset enable the device to provide a wide range of reset conditions for system reliability. The MAX6700UT+T also contains an active-low power-good output to indicate when VOUT has reached its regulation limit. In addition, the device utilizes an on-chip 5V voltage reference circuit to provide a reference voltage to the remote voltage monitoring circuit.

The MAX6700UT+T offers a wide supply voltage range (1.8V to 5.5V) and features an adjustable reset active output threshold and an adjustable reset delay time. The device is well-suited for automotive, industrial, and general-purpose applications. The MAX6700UT+T is offered in a 2mm × 2mm ODFN-8 package, enabling a very small footprint solution.

The MAX6700UT+T provides reset signals with fast wakeup time. The device also provides overvoltage protection (VPWR pin), undervoltage protection (VPWR pin), and power-on reset. An optional manual reset button can be triggered to cause a reset on a momentary basis. Additionally, the MAX6700UT+T is capable of detecting multiple power faults and can maintain system reset until all power faults are resolved, allowing for improved system reliability.

The working principle of the MAX6700UT+T is simple and easy to understand. The device is composed of three main functional blocks: the voltage monitor/controller, reset controller and output stage. The voltage monitor/controller reads the voltages from the input pins (VIN), the one-time programmable inputs (OptoPads) and the external voltage (VPWR) and compares them to the user-defined threshold and delay parameters. If the voltage is outside of the user-defined range for more than the set delay time, the device generates a reset signal. The reset controller then triggers the outputs and outputs a reset signal until all of the power faults have been resolved. The output stage drives the reset signals, the logic family pins, and the power-good signal to the system.
