This supervisor integrated circuit delivers an impressive array of power management features and is particularly suited to embedded systems and portable applications.The primary purpose of the MAX6747KA30/V+T is to provide the ability to monitor and control power-up sequencing, provide error detection, and protect against over-current, under-voltage and over-temperature conditions. By providing these features, the MAX6747KA30/V+T can significantly improve device reliability and protect system devices from accidental damage. In terms of application field, the MAX6747KA30/V+T is well suited for embedded systems such as microcontrollers, digital signal controllers, field-programmable gate arrays and system on chip devices. The Programmable Logic Output (PLO) block provides the user with a Logic Interface which can be programmed with either a single GPIO or with a dual GPIO output. Each of these outputs can be either active-low or active-high, allowing for maximum flexibility in terms of how the unit can be used.The Voltage Monitoring Circuit is responsible for detecting the state of the system’s power supply voltage. This is achieved by means of two analog-to-digital converters which are used to compare an integrated reference voltage to the system’s power supply voltage. If the detected voltage is out of bounds, the MAX6747KA30/V+T can be programmed to generate an alert which can then be used to initiate proper corrective measures.The Temperature Monitoring Circuit is also responsible for detecting potential temperature issues within the system.
