The MAX6757UTZD0+T supervisors are designed for monitoring the processor power supplies in a variety of computing systems, such as desktop and server applications. The MAX6757UTZD0+T provide the functions of resetting the processors and other system peripherals, as well as other configurable features.

The MAX6757UTZD0+T operates as a window watchdog timer and will reset the processors and other system peripherals when the input power supply voltage falls outside a window of voltages defined by user-programmable undervoltage (UV) and overvoltage (OV) trip points. It provides both active-low (AA) and active-high (BA) reset outputs, and each output can be configured as a single pulse or a latching-type reset.

The MAX6757UTZD0+T contains one adjustable UV trip point comparator, one adjustable OV trip point comparator, two window comparators, an oscillator, and a latch. The reset outputs are compatible with MAXIM ESD-protected I/O standard, and are thus clamped to 3.2V. The MAX6757UTZD0+T can be programmed to operate as either a single-voltage window supervisor, or a dual-voltage window supervisor.

When the MAX6757UTZD0+T is used as a single-voltage window supervisor, either the UV or OV inputs can be used with an external resistor divider to monitor the power supply. A power-on reset (POR) is provided at the UV input to reset the system after the UV input voltage drops below the reset threshold.

For dual-voltage window supervisor applications, the MAX6757UTZD0+T uses both the UV and OV inputs to monitor two separately adjustable voltage levels. An internal window comparator monitors the voltage with an adjustable window between the two levels. If the voltage falls outside the window, a reset is generated at the AA or BA output.

The UV and OV trip points of the MAX6757UTZD0+T can be programmed by external resistors and can be adjusted over the range of 2.9V to 11.7V with a 0.8V accuracy. The reset outputs are driven by an internal oscillator and can be programmed for either a single-pulse or latching reset operation.
