Working Principle of MAX6804US31D3+T

The working principle of MAX6804US31D3+T as a voltage supervisor is based on the voltage detection and reset signal generation functionalities. It is equipped with an internal comparison circuit that can be configured to detect multiple supply voltages and warn or trigger a reset signal when these voltages escape their pre-defined safety boundaries. It can detect voltage levels ranging from 2.2 volts to 12.6 volts with a precision of 1100 mV.

The reset signal is generated when the monitored voltage levels exceed the alarm high threshold or fall below the alarm low threshold. It then delivers a reset signal within 10 µs, including a high active reset pulse for resetting the microcontroller or any other device connected to the reset input. The reset pulse width can be configured for the desired resetting time depending on the specified requirements for the system.

The MAX6804US31D3+T also offers additional power protection features that allow it to be used in wide temperature range of -40°C~+105°C without the need of an external temperature sensor.
