The MAX706ARESA+ is a high accuracy micropower supervisor that provides a valid reset output when the power supply voltage falls below a preset threshold. This supervisor can be used as a simple power-on reset device with a set threshold of 4.63V and an hysteresis level adjustable from + 0.82V to + 1.43V via an external resistor. A manual reset input is also available to manually override the reset signal. This device is great for microprocessor, DSP, and ASIC applications.
The MAX706ARESA+ is designed to monitor various power systems, from a 5V to 28V main supply, 5V to 28V auxiliary supply, as well as up to five system-level supplies. The reset output remains high for output voltages of up to 28V and is typically low when the supply voltage drops below 4.63V. A small 0.1µF capacitor can be placed on the RESET pin to debounce the output.
The MAX706ARESA+ offers an open-drain manual reset input to the device, enabling the user to manually override the reset output. If this pin is brought low, the RST output will be forced low, even if the supply voltages have not yet reached the preset voltage threshold. This provides the user with the option to manually force a reset. Once the RESET pin returns to an open drain state, the device will return to normal operation.
