Working Principle of MAX706ASEPA+

The MAX706ASEPA+ is an ultra low power voltage supervisor used to monitor the input voltage ranges from 0.9V to 9.0V. It has an internal supply voltage of 2.25V while the reset voltage can be set through a selection of divider resistor values. It is also equipped with a power-on reset generator that is capable of providing longer reset delay time (tRST) and shorter Power-Loss Threshold time (tPLO).

When the supply voltage rises to the level set by the regulation resistor, a reset signal commands the processor to reset its internal state. During a reset period, the reset output is activated and held low until the voltage reaches the set threshold, and then is deactivated. Meanwhile, when the input voltage drops below the preset threshold, a reset signal will be produced to reset the processor. The processor will stay in the reset status until the voltage rises back to the regulation voltage level, and then the processor will come out of the reset status.

In addition, MAX706ASEPA+ also features of higher current limit of 20mA, with a voltage range of 4.4V to 24V for better performance and reliability. Furthermore, it has a low current consumption of 0.90uA at 2.25V, making it highly suitable for portable electronic products that require low power consumption.
